Peripheral Nerve Conditions

An aching or numbness in your wrist or hand is the most common symptom that can produce the diagnosis of a peripheral nerve condition. Physical therapy, occupational therapy and surgery may all play a role in helping patients with nerve damage return to normal functioning.

Carpal Tunnel

Pressure on the median nerve can stem from anything that reduces the space for it in the carpal tunnel.

Ulnar Neuropathy

Ulnar neuropathy, also known as cubital tunnel syndrome, puts pressure on the ulnar nerve each time the elbow is bent, reducing the supply of blood to the nerve.

Peroneal Nerve Dysfunction

Peroneal nerve dysfunction is a type of peripheral neuropathy that is specific to the peroneal nerve. The peroneal nerve is branch of the sciatic nerve, which supplies movement and sensation to the lower extremities.

Peripheral Nerve Tumors

They generally appear as a lump or a mass on the arm or leg. They do not generally spread to other organs and tissues of the body, although in rare cases they might spread to the lungs.
